Briefly

The Machikado Project, situated in Asahi-cho, Kagamigahara City, Japan, comprises a group of six houses designed to foster a rich living environment. The architects aimed to counteract the trend of isolated single homes by creating a community landscape reminiscent of traditional villages. Utilizing a 1,395 square meter plot, they incorporated shared gardens and roadways turning the area into a park-like setting enhanced with fruit trees, promoting a sense of community and collaboration while overcoming design and zoning challenges. This innovative approach celebrates shared living and environmental sustainability.
