VAAZH, designed by VY Architecture Studio in Vedanthangal, Tamil Nadu, is a 139-square-meter residence that harmonizes contemporary spatial design with local biodiversity. Highlighted by a curvilinear wall that doubles as a climatic buffer, the home emphasizes indoor-outdoor living and passive cooling. Materials such as compressed earth blocks and river rocks reflect sustainability, while the layout incorporates traditional elements, like a thinnai, to facilitate cross-ventilation. The open courtyard functions as a thermal regulator, enhancing light and airflow, and framing scenic views that change with the seasons.
VY Architecture Studio's VAAZH residence marries contemporary design with regional biodiversity, featuring curvilinear walls that enhance natural light and promote energy efficiency.
The walls of VAAZH create a unique aesthetic while serving practical functions, acting as climatic buffers and allowing for an engaging interplay of light and shadows.
