The Metropolitan Museum of Art just revealed renderings a $500 million modern wing
Briefly

Frida Escobedo’s innovative design incorporates a limestone celosía which allows for a unique interplay of light throughout the gallery, making it a dynamic space.
The new wing will increase the gallery space by nearly 50%, providing much-needed room for modern and contemporary art, showcasing 20th- and 21st-century works.
Located within the existing 123,000-square-foot footprint, the new Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing will preserve the historical integrity while enhancing the visitor experience.
With a rooftop cafe and landscaped terrace inspired by Central Park, the new wing will not only emphasize art but also provide stunning views and an urban oasis.
