The Stalk Tree-Hugger in Jakarta, designed by RAD+ar, is a unique architectural endeavor that integrates five tall trees into its fabric structure. It creates an engaging environment for commercial activities like dining in a nature-centric setting. The bar-restaurant, featuring a lightweight roof that acts as both a façade and an ambient light source at night, emphasizes the project's focus on retaining the site's natural beauty while preventing environmental disruption. This design illustrates flexibility and the potential of minimal interference solutions in commercial architecture.
The design team at RAD+ar aimed to demonstrate how minimal intervention in nature can create versatile and interesting spaces for commercial activities.
The entrance is subtly merged with vertical plants, leading to a narrow, greenery-lined foyer that holds an upper bar-restaurant amidst the trees.
