Wolfgang Tillmans's collection to be sold at Christie's
Briefly

This week, Christie's presents Wolfgang Tillmans: The Way We Look, showcasing 15 of his significant works from the 1990s. The exhibition includes portraits of cultural icons like Moby and Kate Moss, as well as camera-less abstract pieces. Running from 12 to 21 February in London, the photographs will be sold in a contemporary art auction on 6 March. Isabel Bardawil notes this collection captures a crucial phase in Tillmans's career, with a notable high-value piece, Urgency XIX, marking his exploration of unique photographic techniques.
"What's really exciting about this collection is that most of the works are from the 1990s, a really iconic period for Tillmans," says Isabel Bardawil.
"Tillmans's work has been included in both contemporary art sales and photography sales, and the highest prices are achieved for his large abstracts, like Urgency XIX," Bardawil says.
