A Philip Johnson House Is on the Market in Newburgh, N.Y.
Briefly

Jeremy Parker and Jiminie Ha uncovered a little-known Philip Johnson-designed house, the Wolfhouse, in Newburgh, NY. Initially doubting its authenticity, they inspected the property, discovering its potential despite prior alterations affecting its midcentury-modern style. Built in the late 1940s, the house shares its era with Johnson's renowned Glass House in Connecticut. Though the structure was in considerable disrepair, both Parker and Ha recognized the significant architectural value and opportunity it presented for restoration and investment, motivated by their long-standing friendship and collaborative spirit.
"We were shocked to find this house," Mr. Parker said in an email. "Nobody knew about a Philip Johnson home in Newburgh," Ms. Ha added.
"The bones were there," Ms. Ha said, reflecting on the potential of the Wolfhouse despite its disrepair and prior design alterations.
Known as the Wolfhouse, the structure was built in the late 1940s, around the same time as Johnson's Glass House in New Canaan, Conn.
The boxy, two-story house was in disrepair and previous owners had made design changes not in keeping with its midcentury-modern aesthetic.
