INNA Jam in its final days; Mia Mezcaleria and Sugata shutter
Briefly

INNA Jam, an Emeryville producer of single-varietal, seasonally-crafted jams, announced closure after 15 years, attributing the decision to the founder's desire for personal change rather than financial trouble. The brand began as a DIY fruit foraging and jamming hobby and used organic fruit sourced within 200 miles of its kitchen. Remaining inventory will be sold through the end of September at the Emeryville location. Mia Mezcaleria in Jack London Square closed unexpectedly and is listed as permanently closed, with hopes of returning in the future. Sugata, a family-owned Japanese restaurant in Albany, closed after nearly 45 years, and its website appears to be offline.
After 15 years of supplying the East Bay with fresh, seasonally-crafted housemade jams, INNA Jam is calling it quits.
The Emeryville brand, which began as a DIY fruit foraging and jamming hobby and has since accrued accolades from Epicurious and Parade Magazine, makes single-varietal jams from organic fruit sourced within 200 miles of their kitchen.
There's no problem with INNA that is causing this upcoming closure - INNA is good! Thanks to you!
It's simply time for a personal change - being a jam maker and running a jam company has been fulfilling work, but also hard work. It's time for me to change gears and make space in my life for other things.
