An 18-year-old from Oakland was arrested in connection with a $56,000 jewelry theft from the Home Consignment Center in San Carlos in September 2024. The store was open when three suspects smashed in the door and broke jewelry cases with hammers. A months-long investigation, aided by the Milpitas Police Department and others, led to his arrest, while authorities are seeking to identify the remaining two suspects involved in the incident. The sheriff's office continues to encourage tips from the public regarding the case.

Following a months-long investigation, including assistance from the Milpitas Police Department, the suspect was identified and linked to the robbery.
