Airlines are addressing overcrowding by introducing innovative double-decker seating, designed by Madrid startup Chaise Longue in collaboration with Airbus. This arrangement alternates raised and normal height seats, offering top passengers more freedom to recline without worry while providing bottom passengers additional legroom. However, the concept has sparked controversy online, with many users expressing concerns about comfort and hygiene. Chaise Longue's CEO, Alejandro Núñez Vicente, emphasized the goal of enhancing the flying experience, though the timeline for rollout remains uncertain as discussions with Airbus continue.
The nice thing about this arrangement, is that farts from the higher seats in front of you will hit you right in the mouth so you don't have to wonder where they came from.
After 4 exciting years pursuing my dream of improving the passenger experience and giving passengers what they truly deserve, today I am very excited to make [this] announcement.
