Ruth Codd, 29, underwent a second below-knee amputation on her left leg after years of surgeries and chronic pain stemming from a teenage football injury and an earlier amputation six years ago. Prior crutch use for eight years damaged her foot joints and led to toe removals in 2021. Recovery will require at least a month of healing before a prosthetic can be fitted.
