After over a decade in development limbo, Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto has signed on to direct the long-awaited Just Cause movie, based on Square Enix and Avalanche Studios' popular video game franchise.
Universal Pictures has taken over production of the Just Cause film after the rights shifted from Constantin Film. The movie follows agent Rico Rodriguez in toppling oppressive governments, with the last game release being Just Cause 4 in 2018.
