Fedora restaurant, a beloved establishment that closed in 2020 due to the pandemic, is set to reopen with new owners. Originally operated by Fedora Dorato, it holds a rich history dating back to Prohibition. New partners Andrew Dete and Christa Alexander, along with wine director Basile Al Mileik, are bringing it back to life, promising to maintain its neighborhood charm while capturing the community's interest. The excitement for Fedora's return is palpable, as evidenced by the strong response from locals eager for the restaurant's revival.
"The number of people who come to the door and are like, 'Are you open? I want to come back to this,' has been amazing," says Andrew Dete, a partner.
"Fedora has always been defined by its leader and in this revival that person is Al Mileik. He's been a fixture of the NYC wine world."
