Americans are drinking less alcohol than in the past 86 years, yet the collector's market for rare spirits remains active. WhistlePig is unveiling The BigShǝBàng, a single-malt aged 30 years in American oak and finished in Vin Santo barrels. Only four barrels were produced, and the bottling carries a $5,000 price per bottle. Flavor notes include hints of fresh bread and honeysuckle with a sweet finish. Previous limited releases include a 25-year finished in Silver Oak cabernet barrels priced at $2,000 and a 21-year released for $900, with limited quantities remaining available from the distillery.
We didn't wait for our Single Malt's 30th birthday just to play it safe. The BigShǝBàng is a flavor supernova - radiant, otherworldly, and unlike anything we've ever put in a bottle,
We've been hunting down Vin Santo barrels for a few years now, and the stars finally aligned with a precious few to finish this inaugural release. As with many of our most elusive casks, they've proved to be a catalyst for complexity that's well worth the quest.
