Android 16 adds AI-powered weather effects that can make it rain on your photos
Briefly

Google's latest Android 16 beta for Pixel phones brings exciting new wallpaper options, allowing users to frame subjects in photos with various shapes. By tapping a collection of sparkly starbursts, users can access effects like 'Shape' which centers on a subject within a colorful frame. Additionally, a 'Weather' feature creates dynamic interactions with the photo based on real-time local conditions, offering effects such as rain or fog. The previous 'Cinematic' wallpaper mode is also enhanced, adding 3D motion to the images.
When you select an image to use as wallpaper in the beta, you can tap the sparkly collection of starbursts that has become the de facto symbol for AI features to access the new effects.
The default choice, 'Local,' changes the effect depending on nearby weather conditions, but you can pick fog, rain, snow, or sun if you'd rather use one persistent effect.
