Google introduced support for the ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless protocol with the Pixel 6 Pro in 2021. But if you've been struggling to get your Pixel phone to precisely locate one of the few Android-compatible trackers that support UWB, it's because that feature is only enabled on the Pro models of the Pixel 8 and above, Google confirmed to Android Authority.
Pixel's Battery Saver modes are essential when you need your phone to last as long as possible at a moment's notice. Standard Battery Saver is nice in that it immediately limits background activity, switches on Dark theme, and reduces visual effects that can tax a battery. The real superhero is Extreme Battery Saver, going even further by pausing most apps and notifications to extend your battery for days if needed.
But while all of that stuff can certainly add up to make a meaningful difference, the best parts of a Pixel tend to be the smaller touches that often aren't heavily promoted in ads or events. And best of all? Most of those features tend to make their way down to most existing Pixel models - not only the newest, shiniest options.
