Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to elevate gaming standards with its trailer presenting advanced visuals. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, believes that the gaming industry is on the brink of achieving live-action-like animation. In a Bloomberg interview, he mentioned that while current games offer impressive graphics, they still require suspension of disbelief to not appear as animation. Zelnick also highlighted the potential impact of President Trump's tariffs on console sales and affirmed his support for single-player gaming despite market trends leaning towards multiplayer experiences.
According to Strauss Zelnick, animation that is indistinguishable from live-action footage may be arriving sooner than anyone expects.
Zelnick noted that games have not reached the 'technological asymptote' of movies and TV shows, but he believes the industry is heading towards a future where games can truly replicate the appearance of reality.
