Large Numbers of People Report Horrific Nightmares About AI
Briefly

A recent survey by Amerisleep reveals that one in five people dream about artificial intelligence, often associated with anxiety and nightmares. While a significant number of respondents experience AI-related dreams infrequently, 10% have them weekly. Gen Z individuals are particularly affected, with many fearing job loss to AI. Concerns about AI taking control and having conversations with it also featured prominently. Notably, actor Nicholas Cage recently commented on the disturbing rise of AI, reflecting broader societal anxieties surrounding this technology in our subconscious.
Experts have long warned that artificial intelligence is making its way into every corner of our lives - but we didn't necessarily expect it to seep into our actual dreams.
The mattress makers asked 1,000 people in the United States a battery of questions regarding AI and dreams. While a majority (56 percent) said they dream about AI less than once per month, nearly one in five said they have one AI dream in the same time period, and 16 percent said they have more than one.
