The Palworld dating sim started out as a joke, but now it's very real
Briefly

Palworld: More Than Just Pals, originally an April Fools' Day joke by Pocketpair, is now an actual dating sim game in development. Set in Palpagos Private Academy, players can form friendships, romantic connections, or even engage in sinister actions with creatures known as 'pals'. Pocketpair has confirmed the legitimacy of the game, easing fears it was a hoax. Like its predecessor, it incorporates a mix of lighthearted gameplay with dark undertones, drawing comparisons to games like Doki Doki Literature Club. As development continues, a new trailer teases more features and potential release dates.
"It's up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them," the Steam description ominously reads.
Pocketpair communications director John "Bucky" Buckley said on X that the announcement "doesn't concern April Fools'" on X.
