Gucci Taps Nine Artists to Reinterpret Silk Scarves From Its Archive
Briefly

Gucci has launched the 90x90 project, inviting nine international artists to creatively reinterpret five themes from its iconic scarf archives: flora, fauna, nautical, equestrian, and the GG Monogram. Each artist offers a unique and contemporary vision of classic designs, catering to an art-savvy audience. Notable works include innovative interpretations by Yu Cai and Inji Seo. The project emphasizes observation and storytelling within fashion archives, and its release will coincide with a coffee table book, further exploring the history and artistry of Gucci's silk scarves.
Approaching a fashion archive is, first and foremost, a tireless exercise in observation and interpretation. In the case of a scarf archive, it’s also like opening a storybook.
In the scarves, each character comes to life, from the central lily of Flora to the animals of the savannah, metamorphosing into sci-fi monochromatic gels or compelling characters from an adventure comic.
