According to the CDC, listeria outbreak linked to Yu Shang Food Inc's ready-to-eat meat products has led to illness in 11 individuals across four states.
The outbreak originated from a South Carolina food processor, Yu Shang Food Inc, which produced meat and poultry products that have since been recalled.
Listeria monocytogenes poses significant health risks, especially to vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, the elderly, and young children.
The FSIS confirmed a connection between the illnesses and Yu Shang’s products, prompting a recall of 72,000lbs and urging consumers to check their refrigerators.
