The new Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault at Cornell, initiated by Interim President Michael I. 'Sexual assault has no place on our campus,' Bala said. The task force is focused on best practices and social contexts to enhance campus safety.
The task force will adopt a public health approach, reviewing existing research and strategies from peer institutions to improve sexual assault prevention at Cornell.
In a 2023 survey, 23% of women and 9% of men at Cornell reported experiencing sexual assault, highlighting the urgent need for action.
