Stokes will deliver a talk, 'The Carbon Wave: A Story of Democracy, Parenthood, and the Race to Protect Our Planet,' recounting the passage of the legislation through the perspectives of three new parents.

It's a chance for the community to step into our facilities, engage directly with our community and discover the many ways veterinary medicine impacts animals, people and the environment.
Dan Gold's rigorous and creative life of the mind manifested in rich intellectual work as well as contemplative practice. These forms of deep-seeing and creativity were interwoven, resulting in powerful academic work and unusually humane interactions with students and colleagues. We will miss him greatly.
Stickel, formerly deputy chief, has been serving as interim chief since Sept. 20 following the retirement of Chief Anthony Bellamy. "Chief Stickel has demonstrated unwavering dedication, professionalism and leadership throughout his tenure with CUPD," Honan said. "His commitment to campus safety, community engagement and operational excellence has earned the respect of his peers and the broader Cornell community. This promotion is a well-deserved recognition of his service and vision for the future of CUPD."
The 2025 Cornell Survey of Sexual Assault and Related Misconduct showed a rise in the number of students who said they experienced nonconsensual sexual contact, as the percentage of students who responded to the biennial survey dropped by more than half. The survey, conducted in accordance with New York state law, provides insight into students' experiences with sexual misconduct, harassment and related behaviors across Cornell's campuses. This year, 15% of respondents reported experiencing nonconsensual sexual contact since coming to Cornell, compared with 11% in 2023.

Cornell has secured a 10-year, $10 million grant renewal to continue work aimed at spurring economic impact and job growth through applied research, development and commercialization of breakthrough technologies.
