According to local authorities, Alexander Moucka, suspected in numerous Snowflake-related hacks, was arrested in Canada following a U.S. request for his provisional arrest.
The hackers exploited a lack of multi-factor authentication on Snowflake accounts, stealing sensitive corporate data using stolen passwords from employee computers infected with malware.
Moucka, who operated under the aliases Waifu and Judische, had warned in an interview that he anticipated an upcoming arrest and had taken steps to destroy evidence.
Ian McLeod of the Canadian Department of Justice confirmed Moucka's court appearance on October 30, 2024, with his case adjourned to November 5, 2024.
