LeBron out for All-Star Game, ending 20-year run
Briefly

LeBron James announced he would not participate in the NBA All-Star Game due to ongoing discomfort in his left foot and ankle, which also caused him to miss the previous game against the Indiana Pacers. Despite hoping for improvement, he decided to prioritize his health. After a strong performance by the Lakers leading up to the break, currently placed 5th in the Western Conference, James acknowledged the need to take care of himself in preparation for the remainder of the season. This marks the first-ever All-Star game he has missed in his storied career.
I was hoping it would feel a lot better this morning, but it was not where I wanted it to be.
With 30 games left and us trying to make a playoff push in the wild, wild West, I felt like it was very important for me to kind of take care of myself.
It will be the first All-Star game James sat out in his career after being named a starter for a record 21st straight year.
James added that he hoped he will be available Wednesday in the Lakers' first game out of the All-Star break against the Charlotte Hornets.
