Juan Lujan, alleged member of the Border Brothers gang, faces a charge for assaulting a motorcycle officer by ramming his patrol car in Oakland on January 17. This assault resulted in the officer's motorcycle falling on him. Further complicating matters, Lujan was involved in another incident on April 14 where a car he was in again rammed a patrol officer. This incident led to hospitalization of the officer. Lujan remains out on bail and has yet to plead as of April 29 court date.

Prosecutors charged Lujan on April 15, after he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the April 14 ramming.
In another incident, a separate officer was struck by a vehicle while inside his patrol car, highlighting escalating violence against police.
Lujan bailed out of jail and has not yet entered a plea, with his next court date scheduled for April 29.
