Dave Thomas, a 64-year-old retired NHS worker, has accomplished an impressive feat by running to all transport stations in London, including tube, overground, tram lines, and cable cars. Taking selfies as proof, he is awaiting confirmation from Guinness World Records about his unique achievement. His charity run has raised nearly £6,000 for Chance for Children, exceeding his initial goal of £2,500. Inspired by personal health challenges and a jigsaw puzzle, Thomas spent four months planning his route, which contributed to his ongoing fitness journey that began a decade ago after a wake-up call about his health.
"I wanted to raise money for charity, but I couldn't just ask people to sponsor me to run a marathon because I do those all the time."
"I contacted Transport for London and they think it is unique. People have run the Tube lines before but no one has ever run the Tubes, trains, DLR and the trams."
"I was absolutely amazed by how many people donated. I have been gob smacked by the amount of money and support that they have given."
"I started running and I lost three stone. It is a very good way of keeping fit."
