PC Craig Carter, 51, stole approximately £115 from the wallet of Claudio Gaetani, a filmmaker who collapsed and died while cycling, during a duty related to the incident.
Describing Carter's act, prosecutor Oudge Kalyani Kaul KC stated: "On the 7th of September, two years ago, you threw all of that away - you let down your force, you let down your community."
