Jayren Malijan, a 20-year-old attendee, expressed, "People complain that they're lonely but they're not willing to go out and make an effort to not feel lonely. Phones are physiologically impactful. It's detrimental to your mental health. People can't hold a conversation, he said."
The Offline Club is making waves with its phone-free hangouts; offering a necessary respite from tech dependence, where participants seek genuine human interaction in a curated, distraction-free space.
Referring to the state of modern social interaction, Malijan remarked that "on the street, everyone looks so serious and unapproachable looking down at their screens. An event like this is what most of us need, especially if you're young."
Malijan reminisced, saying, "I yearned for years past when being offline was the norm. Technology wasn't as advanced back then, allowing for more genuine connections between people."
