A man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article after an 11-year-old girl was stabbed in Leicester Square.
The 11-year-old girl was found with stab wounds and taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Initially, it was thought the girl's mother was also hurt, but it was confirmed that it was a mistaken assumption due to the daughter's blood.
Cordons were placed around Leicester Square following the stabbing incident that took place just after 11.30 am.
