A man has succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized following a flat fire in Sydenham on February 18. Emergency services responded to reports of the blaze at 5.54 am, with firefighters extinguishing the fire by 7.16 am. Although only a portion of the flat was damaged, the man was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital, where he later died. The incident remains under investigation by the London Fire Brigade as to its cause.
Firefighters were called to Venner Road last Tuesday (February 18) at 5.54am to reports of a blaze in a first floor flat.
The London Fire Brigade has stated today (February 24) that the man died days later after being treated for injuries sustained in the fire.
A small part of the property was damaged after the incident was resolved by 7.16am.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the London Fire Brigade.
