The Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, delayed multiple times, is set to open on June 5, 2026. Located in an old industrial building, it will feature over 100 original drawings by Quentin Blake. The museum will host three exhibitions, including the first major UK exhibition on queer comic-making and a showcase of MURUGIAH's work exploring identity and mental health. The project received £3.75 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and additional support from local organizations. Tickets for the first exhibitions will be available starting April 29, 2026.
