Six dogs die in fire which damages flat

Six dogs were killed in a blaze that damaged part of a flat in Harold Hill. No-one else was injured in the blaze. The incident caused damage to the majority of the second and third floor of a five-bed maisonette, as well as half of a connecting stairway.
Around 25 firefighters in four fire engines were dispatched to the scene in Trowbridge Road. Crews from Harold Hill, Romford, Hornchurch, and Dagenham fire stations tackled the blaze from 7.50pm until 9.08pm.
