Adil Maxamed, 20, who absconded from Springfield Hospital in south-west London, has been located in Earlsfield and returned to the hospital by the Met police.
CID officers led the police investigation to locate and detain Adil Maxamed and the two other men who escaped from the psychiatric hospital.
One of the men was detained three hours after the incident, and the second was detained in the Clapham Junction area on Saturday as part of the police operation.
Detective Inspector Jack Lyle expressed gratitude to the public for their vigilance and support in responding to the police appeals during the search for the escaped men.
