A Greek-Cypriot Taverna Is Opening at the New Arcade in Covent Garden
"Zylia is a very personal project for Barry and I. Drawing on our individual backgrounds and family heritage, we've created a menu that brings together our Greek and Cypriot cultures, celebrating the many similarities that connect us but also the differences that make us unique."
"The menu is set to include dishes like melitzanosalata, tyrokafteri, grilled prawn saganaki, and traditional desserts such as karidopita and galaktompoureko."
Zylia is a new Greek-Cypriot taverna opening in Covent Garden as part of the Arcade food hall. Founded by chef Nick Molyviatis and hospo operator Barry Karacostas, the restaurant reflects their shared traditions and flavors of Greek and Cypriot cuisine. The menu features dishes such as melitzanosalata, tyrokafteri, grilled prawn saganaki, and traditional desserts. The venue will combine traditional Greek-Cypriot interiors with modern elements, located in a Victorian boot lacing factory with red-brick arched windows.
