"Med Salleh, which has has one Malaysian restaurant in Bayswater and two Vietnamese ones in Westbourne Grove and Earl's Court, has just added a fourth branch in Kentish Town. The newest site is Malaysian-focused, like the original, serving a menu of street food inspired by Med's upbringing in Malaysia, including dishes from his hometown of Kampar as well as flavours from Ipoh and Penang."
"The Bayswater branch of Med Salleh has been given the seal of approval from critics like Tom Parker Bowles and Jay Rayner, so the Kentish Town branch should also go down a treat. And that's not the only Malaysian spot to have on your radar as Padi, which has locations in Singapore and NYC, is coming to town soon too."
Med Salleh, a restaurant group operated by Med Pang and Koi Lee, has expanded to four locations with the opening of a new Malaysian-focused branch in Kentish Town. The group previously operated one Malaysian restaurant in Bayswater and two Vietnamese restaurants in Westbourne Grove and Earl's Court. The Kentish Town location serves street food inspired by Med's Malaysian heritage, featuring regional dishes from Kampar, Ipoh, and Penang. The menu includes claypot chicken rice, Penang char kuey teow, Hainanese chicken rice, nasi lemak beef rendang, and desserts like Milo and Horlicks tiramisu. The original Bayswater branch has received critical acclaim from notable food critics.
