Man assaulted after attempting to stop pickpockets in Oxford Circus

A 37-year-old man was assaulted at Oxford Circus Underground after he intervened in a pickpocketing attempt. Around 11:40 PM on May 22, he spotted two men trying to steal from a woman and confronted them, recovering her stolen wallet. However, he was violently attacked, punched and kicked to the ground. Fortunately, other passengers rushed to assist, prompting the attackers to flee. The victim suffered a concussion and facial injuries, and police have released CCTV images of the suspects to seek public assistance in their investigation.
Witnesses at the scene reported that after the victim confronted the thieves and managed to recover the wallet, he was brutally assaulted.
