Las Vegas' AREA15 is repurposing a retired Boeing 747 into a cocktail dining venue featuring an immersive experience with a restaurant and dance floor in the former passenger cabin. The aircraft, famous for its widebody design, once served at Burning Man and has been in storage. AREA15's investment aims to create a public space accessible for dining and parties, honoring the iconic 'Queen of the Skies' while preserving its legacy through innovative use.
"It's going to be like 20 feet up in the air and coming out of the building," AREA15 CEO Winton Fisher told Business Insider."
The quad-engine jet, nicknamed the "Queen of the Skies," was the world's first widebody plane and was launched in the 1960s to support the booming demand for air travel.
