SpaceX's Starship faced a serious setback during a test flight on Thursday, losing control and contact just as it reached space. This incident hindered plans to deploy mock Starlink satellites and assess structural limits upon reentry. Kate Tice, a SpaceX manager, noted a loss of attitude control, while Dan Huot mentioned engine failures before the spin. The incident underscores continued challenges for SpaceX, particularly following a recent explosion that raised safety concerns. Safety measures are in place, and an investigation is anticipated, as SpaceX navigates the complexities of its ambitious launch goals.
Unfortunately it seems we lost the attitude control on the ship. We did lose contact with the ship. We have some more to learn about this vehicle.
We've got a lot of measures put before we ever launch a rocket to make sure that we're keeping the public safe. Those worked last time and they're actively in work right now.
