Authorities rule NFL Draft prospect Kyren Lacy died in apparent suicide
Briefly

Kyren Lacy, once a promising LSU wide receiver, was found dead at 24, with authorities concluding it was a suicide. His unexpected death followed a police pursuit that ended with a crash. Just prior, he participated in LSU’s Pro Day and had declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. His father, Kenny Lacy, emphasized the importance of parents engaging their children about mental health, urging vigilance over seemingly minor signs of distress and expressing profound grief while calling for support within families after this tragic event.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Lacy's father, Kenny, adjured parents to stay in touch with their children regarding their mental health.
'Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you,' Lacy's father wrote.
'This has to be the biggest pill our families have had to swallow but I know the love and compassion in our families will get us through.'
