Overall team health is improving as the Dodgers approach the final month of the regular season while competing with the Padres for the NL West. The starting rotation regained health with Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell returning from the injured list. Offense remains depleted with Max Muncy, Tommy Edman and Hyeseong Kim on the injured list. Kim is expected to be activated shortly after the series in Cincinnati following a rehab start in left field. Muncy and Edman are projected to return in early September. Snell took paternity leave for the birth of his second child and is expected to resume his next start.

That's certainly needed given they are firmly locked into a battle with the San Diego Padres for the National League West title. Muncy began taking swings off the tee on Friday, which had him trending in the right direction. He has since progressed to cage work and will make another leap to hitting on the field Tuesday. Kirby Yates was activated from the 15-day IL as the corresponding move. Thankfully, all is well for the Snell family and he is expected to return for his next scheduled start. "He is going to make his next start on Friday," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "They had the baby, and everyone is healthy. "So, yeah, that was baby number two. So we're in a good spot right now."
