Benjamin Mendy entitled to most of unpaid Manchester City wages, judge rules

Judge Joanne Dunlop ruled that while Mendy was entitled to much of his unpaid salary, the club was justified in withholding pay during periods when he was in custody.

Mendy argued that he had been unlawfully denied wages, declaring, 'I was promised I would be paid after I was cleared,' emphasizing his expectation of payment.

City's lawyers countered that Mendy's lack of payment was due to his own conduct during the legal proceedings, as he was not ready to perform duties.

The tribunal acknowledged Mendy's readiness to return to work when not in custody, stating that issues like FA suspension and bail restrictions impeded his return.
