Kobbie Mainoo, who has been sidelined since early February, is nearing a return to training ahead of the Manchester derby. Manchester United coach Amorim indicated that Mainoo's fitness will be assessed, though he may not be ready to play a full match. United's injury concerns have slightly improved with the return of players like Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire. However, De Ligt's recent injury against Forest poses a new challenge for the squad, while Mason Mount's return adds depth but requires careful management of his playing time.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Amorim said: 'I think Kobbie is returning to training, so we'll see and assess for this game already.'
Amorim has revealed De Ligt sustained a knock against Forest which places his involvement against City in doubt. 'I think Matta [de Ligt] has an issue... and we have to assess,' the United boss added.
