Amorim: In-form Maguire deserves England recall
Briefly

Ruben Amorim, Manchester United's manager, advocates for Harry Maguire's return to the England squad, highlighting his leadership skills and improved performances this season. Despite being excluded from the Euro 2024 squad, Maguire, who has 64 international caps, has shown notable progress, including crucial goals in recent matches. With a new coach in Thomas Tuchel set to announce his first squad, Amorim believes Maguire is deserving of a call-up, emphasizing his potential contribution as a leader for the national team.
"If it's enough is with the national coach. I would be really happy for him, I think he deserves [it]," Amorim told reporters when asked if he thinks Maguire's form is good enough to be considered by England.
"He is a great guy, I think he needs to still improve because when you are a player you can improve every time and improve a lot of things," added Amorim.
"But I think his performances in the moment are quite good and you feel he is more a leader now that can help a national team, so I hope he is in the national team in the next games."
