This should be the very beginning of any sales efforts. It's a broad brush approach. You aren't necessarily zeroing in on your ideal client yet but getting your brand out there.
Typically, this means giving tons of valuable content to establish yourself as the authority or "best in class" while asking for absolutely nothing in return.
I've noticed a problem with both marketing newbies and people who've been marketing their goods or services for decades: Most of them aren't firing on all cylinders of the sales cycle.
It doesn't matter if you're selling ice cream or accounting services; the cycle is the same, and I've found you need to pay attention to all five stages to be effective.
