No, the new ChatGPT update won't replace advertising
Briefly

OpenAI's recent announcement enables image generation directly in ChatGPT, raising significant discussions in the advertising realm. Examples like transforming an office scene into a McDonald's advertisement illustrate the potential and challenges posed by this new capability. While it sparks creativity, many advertising professionals stress these tools complement rather than replace human creativity. Industry leaders highlight its usefulness in speeding up conceptual development, though it currently falls short compared to specialized visual technologies. The consensus is that while promising, further advancement is necessary for it to truly replace traditional methods.

Because we made this on a pretty compressed timeline, it really helped the creatives prototype, experiment with camera angles, and things like that, all to speed up the process.
The quality of the visuals isn't at par with the best specialized technologies out there, but it's certainly good enough for a strategist or a business leader to help develop and communicate concepts.
The mood appeared to be yet another sign of death at the door of traditional advertising creatives.
