Virgin Media apologises as thousands report internet outage

Virgin Media O2 has issued an apology after over 10,000 customers in the UK experienced broadband outages on Monday morning, starting just after 10:00 GMT. The company acknowledged the problems, stating, "We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to fix this as a priority." With a customer base exceeding 45 million in the UK, including 5.7 million broadband users as of October 2024, Virgin Media has been under scrutiny as the UK's most-complained about broadband provider according to Ofcom reports from January 2024.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to fix this as a priority," a Virgin spokesperson told the BBC.
The firm says on its website that together with O2, it represents more than 45m mobile, broadband, home and phone customers across the UK.
