MIA closes parking garage after multiple cars burned in blaze. Structural check underway

Around 11:30 a.m., a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crew were called out to a fire at a MIA garage near the 2100 block of Northwest 42 Avenue. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke coming from the Flamingo Parking Garage, and multiple cars were engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Twelve vehicles were involved; four caught fire and eight other nearby were damaged. No one was injured. Greg Chin, a spokesperson for Miami International Airport, said no cars are being allowed into the garage until Miami-Dade Fire Rescue authorizes it.
