Kendall just got a hot new Latin-inspired restaurant from one of Miami's favorite chefs
Briefly

Last December, chef Michelle Bernstein and restaurateur David Martinez reopened their restaurant Sra Martinez in downtown Coral Gables. Now, they have launched a refined version of La Cañita in Kendall, expanding from their original location at Bayside Marketplace. This new iteration boasts a larger space, a more formal ambiance, and an extensive menu. The couple aims to offer something unique in the suburban area where independent restaurants are in demand, making the venue accessible and appealing to the local community while catering to the increasing population density.
Martinez calls the new spot 'a little bit more classic and classy.' It's a dressed-down version of an upscale restaurant bar, but very approachable, very warm.
Another complaint in the suburbs is that it has too many chains and not enough independent restaurants, and people want something more unique. That was certainly part of our thinking.
