Customers flocked to the newly opened Publix at Briar Bay Shopping Center on Feb. 27, but reactions were mixed. Some shoppers expected features seen in other locations, like escalators and luxury amenities, leading to disappointment. Notable complaints included the absence of escalators, making access to the second floor cumbersome, prompting suggestions for improved elevator management. While some patrons appreciated the new store, particularly its size, the lack of expected 'Clublix' features left others frustrated, showcasing the challenge of meeting diverse customer expectations in new retail spaces.
What a disappointment!! Went out to see the new Publix in Briar Bay I actually thought it was going to be like the club publix in Wellington, but all we got was a bigger, second floor, Publix so heartbreaking.
An escalator is definitely needed. It would help if certain elevators were designated for arrivals and other elevators for those departing with grocery carts...Not a smooth flow at all.
I worked at a company that had escalators as a major feature. I can tell you from experience that high-volume escalators break down a lot. When they break it's a huge inconvenience and repairs take time.
