Motherhood often uncovers past traumas and disconnections related to feelings. Despite training as a school psychologist, personal experiences with parenting invoke deep emotional work. Supporting children requires recognizing and processing one’s own feelings. The realization emerges that teaching mindfulness to children simultaneously facilitates personal healing and understanding. This journey involves learning to stay present, managing discomfort, and embracing emotions that were previously suppressed. Ultimately, helping children with emotional expression also aids in self-discovery and reconciling one's own childhood experiences.

I was taught to push through. To be a 'good girl.' To smile when something inside me was begging to be seen.
